Distance

Isn't it weird how one day you can be in the comfort of your home, then the next be in a completely foreign country you've barely even heard of. Or when you visit a friend at school and you party all weekend long, for the celebration never ended after that 4 month long deprivation of familiar life long friends was finally reconciled. You trick your mind into a state of numbness as you travel from place to place, and never really pass time at all. The act of traveling is so odd. You sit down for hours on end, whether it be behind a wheel, or being chauffeured around like a first class businessman, and then all of a sudden you are hours from where you last were and yet time still keeps moving and soon enough those hours will come back and bring you right back where you were. It's almost a tease. A tease of the comfort you used to have and then a sense of adulthood where nothing can stop you from being wherever you want. It all comes together in my mind, but then again I am yet to be the one to do much traveling other than my hometown and Durham. Its those who travel who inspire these thoughts, and drive my desires through the roof with anticipation of when and where to go next.
